Who We Are
The Eric Palmer Memorial Foundation is a volunteer-run registered society and charity in Victoria, British Columbia, founded in 2016 in memory of Eric Palmer.
Our story
Eric Palmer was a beloved son, brother and friend. In 2016, his family and friends created the Eric Palmer Memorial Foundation to carry his name forward — turning private grief into public good.
Eric’s family saw firsthand how emotional stress shapes health and how hard it can be to find help. The foundation was built around that experience: recognizing the effects of emotional stress on health, and making sure other families get the understanding and tools earlier than they did.
Since then the foundation has delivered free childhood-anxiety presentations to school communities across Vancouver Island — Duncan, Nanaimo, Courtenay, Cobble Hill, Victoria and online — raised funds for programs like Victoria’s Youth & Family Counselling Association, and connected hundreds of parents and educators with resources for childhood anxiety and emotional stress.
What we believe
- Emotional health is inseparable from physical health.
- Early, practical education changes outcomes — for children, and for the adults around them.
- Cost should never be a barrier: our programs are free and always will be.
- Community is the delivery system — schools, PACs, libraries and neighbours.
Our board
The foundation is governed by a volunteer board of family and community members:
- Karen Palmer — Founder & President
- Danielle — Director
- Joran — Director
Every dollar donated goes directly to programs and resources; the board takes no compensation.
